Has anyone heard of this? My grandmother had a recipe she cut out of a magazine in the 50's or 60's. She died last year and since it is one of our traditional Christmas foods I want to be able to make it again - but can't find the right recipe.
It is NOT fruit cake. It is similar to panettone but has a denser texture, not flaky at all, very bread-like. And not gummy or moist like fruit cake. It has dried fruit and peel in it and nuts as well, but no spices just sugar and salt. It is baked with yeast. Any suggestions? cross-post
